Stand in your Truth
I remember a time when it once was so easy
And so how has it become so hard?
The roots which keep me safe are dying
My spirit is coming in to bombard
There is no more time to be lying
Where I come from won’t define
Who I truly am inside
The path I chose is a dance in the unknown
But failure is always familiar
It’s my hammer to breakthrough to gold
And the lies that were spread, the lies that were told
Will die with the man that I am not
Would you face such a sadness?
Would you stare death right in the face?
Together lighting a match and letting it all go up in flames
Would you let your truth shine from every part of you?
Would you fly your flag unapologetically?
When everyone says your wrong…
Would you stand in your truth?
